5 Things I've Learned From Working Full-Time

18:00:00

I've been at my new job for just under two months now, but tomorrow is my last day of working so I can get ready to start my new university course in September.

Working full-time was a complete change from going to university, where I was working 40 hours across four days, rather than sitting in lectures for less than 20 hours a week. Although I worked in retail before and during university, I wasn't working as many hours as I am now in such a short space of time.

Nevertheless, I have learned something from working full-time this summer:

Early mornings aren't always that bad.
I now feel more productive when I get up early than I did when I stayed in bed until lunchtime. I always think of the money I'll have earned by the end of that day, and I find that motivates me to get up and go to work.

Weekends are too short!
My weekends are always super packed, with very little time to rest. Why can't they give everyone a three day weekend instead of two! (okay, I do get a day off in the week, but even that isn't enough!). I'm relying on blogging on week nights, and using my breaks at work to keep up with my schedule.

Working feels good.
I've always hated the idea of sitting on the sofa all day for 7 days a week. It's so nice knowing I go to work and I can 100% say I deserve earning money. I also really hate being bored, and I know that if I didn't work this summer, I would be bored as hell not doing anything while all my friends were out earning money.

It's tiring.
I work in a nursery for nine and a half hours a day. And if that isn't tiring enough, I come home, make tea, and start blogging for the night.

The days either drag or fly!
Working 10 hour days isn't easy, and you do often find the days go by really really slowly. I find that the days go quicker when I work with older children, as I prefer this to working with younger children.

How do you find working?
