I'm off to Budapest for a week, so I thought I would share some of my favourite summery items which I'm planning on taking with me (I'm secretly avoiding packing, but shh!)

White Cold Shoulder Top (similar here)

I've had a bit of a thing for cold shoulder tops recently. I bought this one from New Look before I went interrailing last summer, and it's mega comfy and really soft material. It's quite cropped, but luckily, I have the option to wear a high waisted pair of jeans if I don't fancy wearing it as a crop top. For less than £10, I had to have it!

Jeggings

This is a new purchase for me, since my old jeggings recently developed a hole. I found these way more comfy than my old ones. They're a softer material, and I don't have to roll up the bottoms so they fit my super-short legs!

My boyfriend bought me this watch from Topshop as part of my Christmas present, and I literally wear this watch every day, whether I'm just chilling at home, or I'm out and about. It's actually stopped me checking my phone every so often to check the time. It's one of those watches you can wear all year round, because the colours are so adaptable.

Nail Varnish

This was from Rimmel's Rita Ora range, in Neon Fest. It's an absolutely beautiful colour. Compared to what I usually wear during the summer (usually corals and reds), I thought this was an ideal alternative colour for the summer! It says it's supposed to dry within 30 seconds, but I can't say this was true. It didn't take as long as other nail varnishes I own, so that's a good sign!

New Look Denim Jacket

Again, this is another new purchase for me. I thought it would be great for my holiday on Monday, especially in the evenings when you can't guarantee it'll stay warm. I've got a floral skirt and a black top which I'm planning on wearing with this, along with a pair of leggings and a plain t-shirt for the flight.

Consider booking hostels over hotels

Before interrailing last year, I'd never really considered staying in hostels because I thought I'd have to share a room with a load of strangers. But we managed to get a room for just the two of us for around £10-20 per person per night in most places. Obviously this would depend on the location and whether or not you wanted your own bathroom.

Last year, we stayed in three hostels (it was originally four, but the fourth one was changed at the last minute because of bad reviews from other people), and two cheap hotels.

Hostels tend to have their own kitchen facilities for travellers, which would save you so much money rather than eating out every day, which all adds up. Not all hostels have this, but double check as this is definitely worthwhile if you're on a budget.

Hostel booking sites I would definitely recommend are Hostel World and Hostel Bookers.

Our total hotel cost (per person) came to: £200 for 12 nights.

Extra Costs

There are things you're obviously going to need, and can't really do this any cheaper than it already is.

You'll need to find a way to get to your first destination, and get home from your final destination. This may involve flights, but may also involve trains or ferries. When deciding this, it's worth figuring out the cheapest option. Although a flight may only look like it will cost £50 each way, you need to remember that there are other costs that come alongside this (e.g. baggage and checking in).

Our interrail ticket itself cost us £150 to travel five times within a 2 week period. We knew we weren't able to get this any cheaper, so we just bit the bullet and paid for it. However, there are options to get interrail tickets for a single country which are cheaper, so if you're planning on visiting a number of cities within the same country, I'd recommend checking these out instead.
